Wiki Dissection MW

What is the purpose of this Wiki?  

To  tell  what  types  of  technologies  are  disruptive  in the  classroom.

We  would  add  more  attention  grabbing  like  pictures  and  colors.

Technology  can  be  as  disruptive  as  it  is  helpful.

We  would  create  a  Wiki  on  how  to  create  great  Halloween  costumes.

How can Wikis be used in the classroom or in education?

Help  create  study  guides  and  review  sheets.

Wiki's

Wiki's  are  collaborative  sets  of  information  that  can  be  edited  by  a  group  of  people.  It  can  be  used  in  current  classes  by  creating  presentations,  study guides,  vocabulary  lists.  We  can  benefit  from  Wiki's  because  of  the  ability  to  edit  them  as  a  group.  Though  we  can  put  in  the  wrong  information  and  put  everybody  in  a  pickle.  There  is  various  websites  we  can  use  to  create  Wiki's.  One  of  the  biggest  Wiki  sites  is  wikipedia,  you  can  make  a  wiki  with  wikispaces  or  wikihow.  The  only  wiki  I've  ever  used  is  wiki  answers  and  wikipedia  but  I  have  never  edited  any  of  them.

The Hammock

I  was  walking  home  one  day  when  I  found  this  guy  trying  to  sell  me  a  hammock  on  the  sidewalk.  I  took  it  home  and  set  it  up  on  my  tree.  I  decided  to  take  a  nap  on  it  only  to  find  out  when  I  woke  up  that  it  was  raining.  I  ran  inside  and  took  a  shower.  When  I  looked  in  the  mirror  I  didn't  see  an  image.  At  first  I  thought  I  was  a  vampire  but  I  was  perfectly  fine  under  the  sun  and  had  no  thirst  for  blood  so  I  just  concluded  that  I  was  invisible.  First  thing  I  did  was  go  to  the  movies  for  free,  saw  three  movies  that  day.  Anyway after  that  I  went  to  the  bank  and  decided  to  do  some  dirty  work.  Before  I  could  do  anything  a  real  robbery  took  place  with  guns  and  what  not.  I  don't  know  why  I  got  down.  Anyway  after  half  and  hour  of  waiting  I  knew  I  had  to  do  something  because  I  was  not  going  to  miss  out  on  an  opportunity  like  that.  When  two  of  the  guys  weren't  looking  I  took  out  the  third  one  and  took  his  gun  and  threw  it out  the  window,  not  the  best  idea.  Anyway,  I  then  took  out  another  guy  with  a  checkbook  I  found  on  the  floor  and  the  other  guy  was  so  scared  that  he  locked  himself  in  the  vault.

 I  had  done  my  job  and  everybody  was  safe  and  sound.  I  go  home  and watch  TV  when  I  hear  a  knock  on  the  door.  I  look  through  the  peeping  hole  when  I  see  two  guys  in  suits.  I  start  to  suspect  it's  two religious  guys  trying  to  get  me  to  convert  so  I  pretend  I'm  not  home.  Then  they  knock  the  door  down!  When  I  looked  at  them  I  realized  they  were  FBI  agents.  I  sneak  through  the  back  and  get  in  my  car,  then  all  of  a  sudden  there's  a  huge  car  chase.  I  was  captured  and  drugged  by  the  agents.  I  wok  up  in  a  dark  room  when  someone  walked  in.  They  explained  to  me  of  a  huge  nuclear  plant  in  North  Korea,  they  said  that  for  the  good  of  the  world  I  would  have  to  sneak  in  and  blow  up  the  plant  in  a  suicide  mission.  I  agreed.  I  spent  three  days  getting  through  the  DMZ,  I  get  in  the  plant  and  do  what's  necessary.  Of  course  the  FBI  couldn't  let  the  public  know  so  what  I  did  was  kept  secret.  When  I  died,  I  woke  up,  trying  to  sell  a  hammock.

Finance 101

Unlike  financial  literacy,  this  class  will  focus  on  personal  finance,  investing,  entrepreneurship,  and  business.  The  class  will  be  held  in  the  in  the  auditorium  at  4:30pm.
It  will  be  held  on  Mondays,  Wednesdays,  and  Fridays.  We  will  create  a  new  stock  chart  every  Monday,  focus  on  real  estate  and  talk  about  personal  finance  on  Wednesdays,  and  revisit  our  stock  chart  every  Friday  to  check  the  stocks  progress.  This  class  is  optional  and  it  is  not  graded,  but  in  order  to  enter  a  $25  dollar  charge  is  required.

At  the  beginning  of  the  semester,  students  will  be  required  to  create  a  stock  portfolio  out  of  $20  of  the  $25  dollars  they  paid.  They  will  invest,  trade  and  so  on  every  week  and  at  the  end  of  the  semester,  if  the  original  amount  is  not  tripled  there  will  be  a  written  test  for  a  final  grade.  The  other  $5  will  be  used  to  create  a  class  stock  portfolio  in  which   votes  will  be  held  every  Monday  in  order  to  decide  which  stocks  are  bought.  The  only  person  in  control  of  the  class  portfolio  will  be  the  speaker,  or  me.  The  money  made  by  a  single  student  will  be  there's  to  keep  and  the  money  made  by  the  class  will  be  donated  to  the  community.  On  Wednesdays  we  will  talk  about  financial  independence  and  play  fantasy  real  estate.  A  game  in  which  you  find  a  house  and  predict  how  much  it  will  sell  for  on  the  market.
